We use Moneyhub a UK based fintech to connect to your bank via Open Banking, which is a secure and regulated way to access financial data. This connection is one-way and read-only, meaning we can see your transactions but cannot move money or make changes to your account. Each time a transaction is pulled from your bank, it’s stored in Google Firestore, our secure cloud database. Firestore keeps a version history of every transaction, ensuring your records are always up to date and accurate. Here’s how it all works:
- You connect your bank through Open Banking
- This lets us securely pull transaction data into the platform.
- If you prefer, you can manually import transactions instead.
- Transactions are stored in Firestore.
- Every time we receive new data from your bank, we update our records.
- You see the latest transaction data in your Finance tab.
- Your financial records update in real-time (if connected to Open Banking).
- If you’re adding transactions manually, you can edit them whenever needed.
- We never touch your money.
- Open Banking only gives us read access, so we can display your data, but we can’t make transactions or change anything in your bank account.
