As part of your contract you are required to provide your contract-holders of a notice setting out your address for service of documents.
When do I have to provide this form?
You must provide this form to the contract-holders within 14 days of occupation using the RHW2 form above. This time limit includes the occupation date.
Where your service address changes, you must provide the new address within 14 days of the change using the RHW form above.
For example -
- the contract-holders move in on 1 December. You have until the end of 14 December to give them a completed RHW2 form. If you are serving by email or by post then you should send it a few days before this though to make sure it has been received in time.
In all cases you need to account for the time it takes for a document to be served on someone. If you are posting or emailing the document for example, then you should send it a couple of days earlier. Similarly if the 14th day falls on a weekend or a bank holiday, then you should make sure the document has arrived by the last working day beforehand.
