To use the service, you must be an NRLA member (an account holder, not just an associate) with an active subscription. You will also need to have agreed to the Portfolio Terms & Conditions, which you would have done when first accessing the service.
Please note that if your NRLA membership lapses, you will lose access to NRLA Portfolio. However, we will retain your data for one year after your membership expires.
Before you can create a tenancy, we need to verify your identity and confirm your ownership or interest in the property.
Acceptable photo ID: We require one photo ID and one proof of address document (for your landlord address):
- Valid photo driving licence (this can also serve as proof of address if the address is current)
- Passport
Acceptable proof of address:
- Utility bill (dated in the last 3 months)
- Council tax bill (dated in the last 12 months, if your usual address is in England, Wales, or Scotland)
- Valid photo driving licence
- Current mortgage statement (dated in the last 12 months)
- Bank or building society statement or passbook (dated in the last 3 months)
- Rate bill (if your usual address is in Northern Ireland, dated in the last 12 months)
- Current residential tenancy agreement
Acceptable proof of ownership: To confirm that you own the property you wish to create a tenancy for, we require one of the following documents:
- Title deeds
- Land registry documents
- Mortgage statement
- Letter or attachment confirming exchange and/or completion
- Signed solicitor's letter
