What are fire safety labels?
Fire Safety labels are attached to upholstered furniture and furnishings to indicate that they meet specific fire safety standards. These labels help ensure that the products are designed to be more resistant to fire hazards.
How to check fire safety labels:
- Display label: This label is prominently attached to the item, making it easily visible to purchasers and users.
- Permanent label: This label is designed to be difficult to remove without damaging it. It is usually located on the base of items or underneath cushions to prevent it from being removed.
What do permanent labels look like?
Permanent labels often have a durable material and are secured in a less conspicuous location. They may include a distinctive design or markings to indicate their authenticity and compliance with fire safety regulations.

Recording fire safety label checks:
When documenting fire safety label checks, make a note on the inventory report. Include photographs of the labels for each item to provide visual evidence of compliance.
