Not only does Portfolio offer listing, referencing, and tenancy agreements at the outset but once you are up and running you will have the ability to renew tenancies.
Our renewal process means that you can create a renewal tenancy end-to-end through our platform and keep all the data from the original tenancy.
You can access historic notes by switching back to the tenancy term they were originally attached to, for important notes it might be useful to copy these across when renewing the tenancy.
We recommend that you contact your tenant around 2 months before the end of their tenancy to discuss plans for renewal and any changes to the proposed renewal tenancy such as rental increase.
Steps to renew
If you want to renew a tenancy already on the platform head to the tenancies table and search by the property or the tenant’s name.
When you have located the tenancy you can scroll to the right-hand side and click on the dots.
You will then be given the option to VIEW the agreement or RENEW TENANCY.
Once you click renew you will be taken to a screen the same as the original AST builder and the system will have pre-populated your original fields using the information inputted from the previous tenancy.
You will need to edit the dates and any other changes and hit SEND.
What happens next?
Once sent and the tenant has signed you will be able to search by tenant name or the property in the tenancies tab.
You can expect to see the entire history of tenancies put through the NRLA system
Continue through the steps and there you have it a renewed agreement
*Please note you will only be able to renew a tenancy before its end date and as long as both tenant and landlord have signed.
