Payments
The transactions module currently allows members to track tenant’s rental payments. As we build out this module, led by our members, we’ll look to add features including open banking and making tax digital. If you’re interested in these features please note we do not have them yet but we’d be very interested in talking to you about how you see these features working, you can book a time to talk to us here
Each tenant once they have signed a tenancy agreement will have a ‘payment schedule’ for their rent payments that is available on the dashboard.
It shows the tenants the landlord's bank details and instructs them on how to make a payment or set up a standing order with their reference code.
The payments table is visible to both landlord and the tenant. They can find the status of each payment and tenant’s payment schedule under the Payments tab on the left hand side.
The payments table provides landlords with the payment schedules of current and past tenants and provides the status of each payment.
To understand what each status means you can hover over the Status key icon. Example status - Scheduled
Create a Payment
Please make sure that any payments you take will not put you in breach of the Tenant Fee Ban before taking the payment.
- Using the left-hand side of the screen, locate payments tab
- This will bring you to the payment schedules of all the tenants, these can be filtered
- Select the blue “Create Payment” button on the top right of the page.
- Once you select the tab, a new pop-up will appear requesting necessary details about the payment - payment amount, payment type, how often you will be collecting this, when the payment is due and the status of this payment.
- After you've created the payment, you will be able to locate it as a part of the payment schedule for the tenant you are assigning the payment to.
